The NZPFU and FENZ have continued to meet this week in a bid to settle the collective agreement negotiations. Progress has been made with movement from both parties. But a remaining few key matters are yet to be agreed.
The NZPFU National Committee met this afternoon and debated the most recent progress. As a further meeting with FENZ is scheduled for this afternoon the National Committee agreed to cancel tomorrow’s strike. It is hoped that this afternoon’s meeting will resolve the remaining few key issues but given recent discussions that progress is not guaranteed.
The National Committee will meet again tonight to discuss this afternoon’s bargaining meeting and will meet again tomorrow to discuss Monday’s strike. There are a few outstanding issues that the NZPFU cannot settle without. The National Committee is adamant the issues need to be resolved this week.
There is a Locals and Representatives meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning.
Members will be kept informed of any progress and decisions made by NCOM.
