The NZPFU’s one-hour stoppage from 11am to 12 noon on Monday the 7th November 2022 has been withdrawn.

Last week there was movement in the NZPFU FENZ collective agreement negotiations with a Government proposal that would assist with settlement.  The Government’s proposal provided a basis to recommence negotiating.  At the time the NZPFU notified it was cancelling the one-hour stoppage on Friday we also indicated that provided a meeting was organised for this week with the appropriate decision-makers in the room we would also cancel Monday’s one-hour stoppage.

The parties have agreed to meet for bargaining on Wednesday 9 November 2022 with the appropriate attendees and decision-makers including FENZ CEO Kerry Gregory and others that are assisting the parties or advising Government.

As a result the National Committee has determined to withdraw Monday’s one-hour stoppage that was to occur from 11am.

The omnibus of bans continues unaffected by these developments.

The other notified strike action, including the one-hour stoppages notified for Friday 11th November and Monday 14th November, and the additional strike notices issued yesterday, have not been withdrawn or changed.  They remain in place.

In unity,
Wattie Watson
National Secretary
